Meeting
Put 'em in the Best Light!
Dave Landau, President of our North Jersey chapter gave a wonderful
presentation all about the nuts & bolts of lighting people
correctly for the effect you want.
Co-author of the Copyright,
Permission and Libel Handbook, Mr. Schechter gave
us a heck of a "primer" on copyrights, fair use, what is copyrightable
and what isn't. (Did you know that phonebooks are copyrighted!)
Thanks
to all who attended!
Steven C. Schechter
& MCA-I North Jersey President, Dave Landau
(Yes...we asked permission before uploadeing this picture ;-)
What
a fantastic meeting we had with one of the up and coming stars of the
industry.

Rachel", various infomercials, corporate videos and several Telemundo

We
learned a ton about boom mics and several tricks of the trade (If you
wonder why there's a run on Moleskin & hair ties at your local CVS,
come ask us why :-)

April 2011
Meeting
More
than 60 minutes: A
Conversation with CBS
Cameraman Raymond
Bribiesca
Unfortunately
we have no video from our April meeting,
but please enjoy just a couple of examples of
Ray B's work, below.
During his talk, Ray told us about how he started
as a young Marine shuffled off to Journalism school,
which served him well as he became a cameraman for
CBS and 60 Minutes, as well as 48 Hours.
He has covered most of the conflicts of the past 4 decades,
from Vietnam, to South America to the Middle East.
Surviving some harrowing experiences.
But he also covered some fun stories too!
It was truly an honor to listen to him speak,
and tell us HIS story.
Part of one of the innumerable segments
Ray B shot for 60 Minutes
